Mother/Daughter Thank You's

Hello,

Having had my baby shower over the weekend, I'm now frantically working on the Thank You cards inbetween my fits of nesting. However, I do have a question. I realize that gifts given by multiple people who reside in different households should be given multiple thank you cards. What about Mother/Daughters in the same household (IE the daughter is a minor?) Should multiple cards be filled out for that as well, or should they just be thanked on the same card?

TIA!!

As long as they were at the same address, I just wrote one card addressed to both.

Depending on the age of the daughter, I have done it both ways. I think kids who are around 7-10 tend to feel special when they get things addressed just to them, so I will quite often send them their own thank you card.

If the daughter brought you a separate gift that you think she may have purchased with her own funds, I'd send her a separate thank you. Otherwise a shared thanks is appropriate.

If they live in the same house and signed their names to the same card I would do one addressed to them both.

I would not write a separate thank you to a minor living in the same home as the adult (most likely the person who actually paid for the gift).  If the daughter was an adult (18 or older) then she would get her own thank you.

This. Except I wrote my nieces individual thank you cards separate from their Mom because they helped so much with the planning of my shower I wanted them to know I really appreciated everything.

As for my Aunts and Cousins who live under the same roof and gave a gift together, I wrote them one thank you.
