I can't put LO down

My daughter is 4 weeks old and I can't put her down at all. I feed her, she falls asleep on me, I put her down, she cries, I pick  her up and walk/rock her, she falls asleep in my arms, I put her down, she cries...it's  vicious cycle all day.

She never went down for long periods during the day (maybe 45 min to an hour if that) but it was better than nothing. Now it's gotten to point that I'm going a little nutty because can't get a break or do anything.

 I don't know what to do...please help!

We went through this until Connor was 6 weeks old. I bought him the Snugabunny swing and it has been a lifesaver! He will take a good nap in it and if I am busy picking up the house, making dinner etc. he will swing and look at the mobile and be content. Sometimes a tight swaddle will help too, makes them feel they are still being held. Good luck and hang in there! :)

Your not suppose to put your baby down! You've waited almost 10 months to hold them, you shouldn't be bored after a month. Hold them so they bond and trust you. Wear them if no one else can hold them while you cook, clean or get your things done. This time goes by so fast.

I could have written this post! I use my Ergo in the house to get my hands free. It puts him right to sleep and is a huge lifesaver. I was able to do a couple of loads of laundry today because of it!

Be careful what you ask for...my LO loved being held but I needed to get stuff done. I started putting him in his swing and eventually he loved it. I try to get him to fall asleep in my arms now or on my chest and he will move and kick till I put him in the swing. He is out in two minutes once I put him in there. It's good for those who take care of him during the day but I want to snuggle when I get home from work!

My baby is 7 weeks and still wants to be held, by me mostly, at all times between 6 am-9pm. If I try to put her in her bed for a nap she immediately wakes up. It is sweet though in some ways and I am grateful that I am on leave so I can hold her as much as she wants. A shower would be nice once a day though! I try to baby wear her but she isn't crazy about it, or her swing.

I can completely sympathize. Just in this past week have I gotten DD to sleep in a rnp or swing for a few hours every now and then. Up through that point, it was in someone's (mostly my) arms 24 hours/day. I really thought by 6 weeks we would be better, but we're still fighting the sleeping situation. I'm trying to maintain that there will come a day when she won't want to be held and enjoy it, but I get wanting (and needing) to get up and get things done. Hang in there- One day at a time!

TTC since 7/2010. BFP #1 10/7/2010. M/C 11/3/2010. PCOS diagnosed 10/2011. BFP #2 4/29/2012 after 3 rounds of Clomid. 1/8/13- our little miracle is here!

We had some success with the Boppy Lounger, but DD pretty much wants to be held all the time too. My wrap and slings have been lifesavers.

Confused  really? I mean, sure that sounds great, but sometimes you need a flipping shower, or you have two kids and the other one needs a diaper change. Life happens.

Have you tried swaddling her before you feed her?  So change diaper, swaddle, feed...
