Crazy!! BH already!!!

I thought I must just be having gas or something when I felt what seemed like a Braxton Hicks contraction last week, but then I felt it several more times throughout the last week.  This is definitely NOT gas!  I didn't think you could start feeling BH until well into the second half of the pregnancy, but I googled it.  Guess they start at around 6 weeks (which was last week, for me) and if it's your 2nd child you can feel them earlier and more intensely.

I always liked getting BH.  Call me crazy, I know some girls used to complain about them.  They could cause some slight discomfort, but I just felt like it was exciting, like my body was practicing/preparing for labor.

I didn't think that was possible since BH are your body "practicing" labour and they don't usually start till late 2nd tri?

The uterus contracts ALL the time, pregnant or not. Women generally cannot feel contractions except during orgasm, later in pregnancy, and during labor. The uterus contracts from the start in pregnancy, but, again, most women do not feel them until 2nd tri. If you are very sensitive to your body, you can feel them earlier and some BH are very strong, they just dont have the correct type of contraction needed for labor. I felt them by late first tru with my daughter. My midwife confirmed they were BH. Because mine were very strong during.pregnancy, she taught me how to tell when they changed to labor pattern, and there is a difference. I didn't fully get it until I did go into labor, but then I could physicallg see the difference.

BH happen all throughout pregnancy, but I do not think you can feel them this early. Especially considered your uterus very tiny and very low down right now. You are more likely experiencing the pulling/cramping/stretching of early pregnancy.

You ladies can think what you like. I didn't believe it at first, but the tightening feeling is pretty much unmistakeable. I've had the round ligament pulling and stretching. This is not it. This is a tightening feeling through my lower abdomen (by the time I got them with my son, I was large enough that I felt it through my entire stomach) that lasts for 30 seconds to a minute, then relaxes.

When do Braxton Hicks Contractions Begin?

Typically, you should start experiencing Braxton Hicks contractions around your 28th week. This being said, early Braxton Hicks contractions can start during the second month in some women. You may find that you don't even feel these contractions the first few times that they happen. If you were pregnant before, you may find that this time around your Braxton Hicks contractions are actually much stronger.

Braxton Hicks contractions really begin to come on in the third trimester. They also tend to get more intense the closer you draw to your due date.

I felt like I was having some the other day, but I'm pretty sure it was just things stretching and some cramping because I was dehydrated. I have read it is possible though! I got mine around 18 weeks with my last pregnancy. It was stressful and uncomfortable. I'm dreading getting them this time around.

Oh man. I totally had one a day or two ago. I was thinking how weird it was cause it was so low, really behind my pelvic bone, but it felt exactly like the BH I had towards the end of my last pregnancy. It was very strong and tight and felt completely different from any other stretching and pains. I was actually worried because I didn't think they were normal this early. I'm 12 weeks.
