First of all Welcome and Good Luck. I personally temp orally, but I am not a mouth breather. Temping vaginally is recommended if you mouth breathe at night, some people just temp that way no matter what because they feel it is more accurate. You should buy a basal body thermometer. It measures to .01, instead of 0.1, so it will be more accurate for charting and seeing a shift. I bought mine from Rite Aid and it works just fine. A lot of people recommend the Mabis from Wal Mart. I usually start temping on CD4 or so. Some people do it from CD1. It's all personal preference. Hope that helps.
