Highlighting Hair in the first Trimester

I have read so many posts on this, but thought I would try one more! I just found out I am pregnant, and REALLY need my hair highlighted. It sounds so selfish and I would obv never do anything to hurt the process of my growing bean, I was going to ask my Doctor but they won't see me until the end of March. Just want to see if I need to wait until April to look pretty:)

I am not a dr but I do hair, highlights are off the scalp so as long as your hairdresser doesn't glob it on to your scalp you're ok! Also my dr told me with being around it and applying it all day that "minimal skin contact is ok, just don't eat it" lol

I got mine done the same week as my BFP. so far everything is going as it should. I say go for it. I already feel horrible so I might as well look decent! Haha!

I believe as long as whoever highlights your hair is sure not to get it on your scalp, and as long as you aren't inhaling the fumes, you should be fine!

You're fine. Even on the scalp color/bleach is fine. Do your hair.

Every doctor says different things,.

I am a hairstylist. If you are getting highlights the color is not even touching your skin. Therefore, it can not absorb. If you are worried about breathing it in, don't be. Millions of hairstylists have had healthy pregnancies and worked the whole way through. You getting your hair done a few times should not make a difference.

Thank you all for feed back.. I think I will do it. Ofcourse I had lunch with a pregnant friend yesterday (and couldn't tell her I was also pregnant) she was 5 mths and said she is too scared to color...but she does full color.

I do it anytime in pregnancy - the chemicals don't rest on my scalp with highlights.
