PUPPS question

I just broke out with it 2 days ago. Had a tiny spot on my belly in a stretch mark. Now it's in a few of the marks and covering one of my elbows. How fast does this horror spread. I'd like to tear the skin off my elbow. The only good thing is I am 2 weeks from my c-section. I read that it goes away shortly after the baby is born.

Yikes! Mine spread pretty fast however now it has gone only to my hands and has cleared up everywhere else. Oatmeal baths, benedryl, and hydrocortisone (only when I couldn't take it anymore) helped so much. I'm sorry you're going through this!

uck. I had it last time and it was pretty awful. Started around 37 or 38 weeks and spread quickly. I was itching so much I couldn't sleep. Doc wrote me a script, but it still didn't help.

Baking soda baths were a good short-term fix and Benadryl gel wasn't too bad. It helped to just try to get out and keep my mind off of it.

The good news was that it went away the second the baby was born. Good luck!

It's... miserable. I think it spreads differently for everyone, and mine has stayed localized on my belly, below my belly button.

Someone from my BMB shared this with me awhile back:

I had PUPPS for 3 weeks or so with my first pregnancy...I feel for you (but at least you know your end date!).  It went away very soon after delivery (after a couple of days at the most).  I echo the Benadryl gel (or the tablets at night- it will help you sleep).  Lotion did NOTHING for me, but definitely keeping my dry skin hydrated helped as far as not adding dry skin itch to the PUPPS itch.

Good luck.

Thanks for all the advice, Picked up Benadryl and a topical. Hopefully it will be a slow spread. I am crossing my fingers.

I never got stretch marks on my belly, but I had PUPPS all over my butt and down the sides of my legs. They are seriously terrible.

The good news within 3 days to a week after giving birth they were completely gone! Hope they go away quickly for you!!!

You won't be able to stop it spreading, and not much has helped my relief. I had it for two months before I had my daughter, and it was BAD (all over my belly, arms, hands, and feet), and I have it again this time, but luckily, even though it broke out early, it's just around my belly and hasn't shown signs of spreading yet...

The only good thing is that it does go away pretty much immediately after birth! Hope you can find some relief. I've been using hydrocortisone cream when it gets really bad, otherwise I just try not to scratch :(

I swear by Dandelion root capsules and Grandpa's Old Pine Tar Oil soap. The soap completely stopped the itching and the pills cleared up the spots and prevented new ones. I started breaking out at 30 weeks and by 34 weeks they were fading. Now, the places are completely gone and I haven't had a problem since.
